Melinda's World

Done xD

Finally been able to create a claymation that's worthy xD

The movie is kinda jumpy and there are a few mistakes in it but I hope to improve in the future =)

I am really happy with myself for going through with this project, and inshallah more to come in the future!

Melinda Test

Just a music and camera test using my Melinda.

My little sister got absoulety terrified when she saw this xD Poor thing lol. I don't think I'll be showing her anymore videos of Melinda, she kept telling me not to let her walk into her room when she is asleep at night.

Mind you, it's just a test, so not wow. Very jerky and limited movement.

Melinda Back

Finally, I found the time to finish her! It was getting a bit depressing, not to mention freaky, seeing her head only sitting on my desk and staring at me all day. Now she has a body =D !

Creating the body, using clay and a copper wire armature, did not take too long. However, creating the dress did, due to the fact that I am hopeless at sewing, even though I've had lots of practice at it with my Grandmother when I was younger. Thank goodness I managed to piece together something decent in the end.

The above photo is my favourite of hers. I love how she's standing, with a dignified air and stance, her shadow long and dark behind her. Hey, she may not be perfect, but I love her =P Hopefully she will be featured in a claymation very soon.

Melinda

Say hi to Melinda =)

I finally started on her after weeks of procrastination. Just got the head done so far, took me the whole day! Will work on her body tomorrow.

Mind you, her looks may change a bit so this isn't exactly the final version of her face. I'm considering giving her longer hair since I don't like how she looks all Cleopatra-ish.

I wish I had better tools to work with =( I had to use the tip of a rubber to smooth out the clay.

Phatty suggested the name Melinda. I researched the meaning of it and fell inlove with the name:

"The modern name Melinda is a combination of "Mel" with the suffix "-inda". "Mel" can be derived from names such as Melanie meaning "dark, black" in Greek or from Melissa meaning "honey bee" in Greek. It is also associated with the Greek word meli meaning "honey" and with Linda meaning "gentle, soft, tender" in Germanic"

From wiki.

Melinda is gonna be used in a clay animation project. I already built the set, but I am gonna scrap it and start over because it's too small. Atleast I got a feel for how to build sets so I wont repeat any mistakes I've done with the first version.

Updates on Melinda and the project coming soon!
